About this tool
Every streaming platform has a preferred artwork size, and the differences matter more than they look. Square artwork at 3000 × 3000 is what Apple Music wants for its store, 1500 × 1500 covers Deezer, and 640 × 640 is Spotify's stated minimum. Delivering something smaller means the platform upscales it, usually badly.
This resizer centre-crops to a square first — so a non-square image is never distorted — and then scales to the exact target. If your source is smaller than the target, the result card tells you plainly that the image was upscaled and will look soft, rather than silently producing a blurry file.

What size should album artwork be?
Deliver at 3000 × 3000 if you can. It satisfies Apple Music's store requirement and gives every other platform more than it needs, so each one can downscale rather than upscale.
Can I use a rectangular image?
Yes, but it will be centre-cropped to a square. If the subject is off-centre, crop it yourself first with the image cropper so you control what is kept.
Why does my artwork look blurry after resizing?
Because it was upscaled. If your source is 1000 × 1000 and the target is 3000 × 3000, the extra pixels are interpolated rather than real. Supply larger artwork instead.
Does artwork need to be embedded in the audio file?
Platforms take it as a separate upload. For your own library, use a dedicated tag editor — the audio metadata editor here detects and reports embedded artwork but does not replace it.
